Whipples Whimsical Toys, Marietta, OH

I visited Whipples Whimsical Toys in Marietta for the first time last weekend and it was AMAZING.  My son, a train lover, thought the toys in a train were the coolest thing ever!  It has new toys from the 1800s through the 1980s.

Another "Drive in Movie" Option

Mountwood Park is having a Drive-In Movie Night tonight July 29. Admission is $1.00 per person, the show begins around 8:30 pm at the marina. Popcorn, snacks, and refreshments will be available. The movie showing will be How to Train Your Dragon.

Jungle Safari in Parkersburg, WV

Jungle Safari is visiting Parkersburg!!  Now until Sunday, July 10 come to the Park Shopping Center (where Crafts 2000 is) in Parkersburg and see Tigers, Goats, Llamas, Monkeys and more.

Sounds like a circus side show act . . . and it was . . . trying to get you to pay to see certain "special animals" charging an arm and a leg to get your picture taken with a baby tiger (which was mighty cute I might add).  BUT, you can see all but two of the animals completely free.  Camel and pony rides are available for kids.

We went tonight and I have to admit, I have never been that close to a live tiger and he was SOOO active, literally jumping off the sides of the cage!  Wish my camera had not died so I could have taken a video.  Worth the drive over there to see the animals up close.  My three year old and I really enjoyed it.

Fox Idol competition

Vienna Public Library (by Foodland) offers One World, Many Stories this summer. This library has one of the most attended story hour times I have ever attended with at least 30 kids per session so come early for decent parking.

LOWES Build and Grow Clinic

LOWES build and Grow Clinic this week (Saturday, July 9 at 10:00 AM) will be making this tow truck. Go here to sign up for this free kids building clinic. What a fun project for the truck lover in your life.
Each child will receive all the items needed for their truck as well as a free apron, goggles, a project themed patch, and a certificate when they complete their project. Project designed for children in grades 2-5.

Friday, July 8th, Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide will celebrate our annual Cow Appreciation Day event by offering a FREE meal to any guest who visits the restaurant fully dressed as a cow!

Guests dressed "head-to-hoof" in cow attire will be rewarded with a FREE Chick-fil-A Meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). For those "too chicken" to wear full cow costumes, Chick-fil-A will award a complimentary entree to customers partially dressed in cow attire, such as a cow-spotted scarf, purse, hat or other accessory.
