The Parkersburg and Wood County Library is having a movie night on Monday, December 17 from 7-9pm.  Their Blogger page says "Come join us for a fun time while we decorate sugar cookies, have punch and eggnog and enjoy this wonderful movie!!"  It's in the Summer's Auditorium which I think is downstairs in the library.

Saturday, December 1st 11:00-3:00 Crafts 2000 will be having a make it take it event for the kids making Ceramic ornaments. 

Sunday, December 2nd from 11:00-3:00 they will be making an adorable Gingerbread Card (I think this is more of a teen/adult activity)

The lady that runs this event is SOOO good with the kids and I always learn about new craft ideas and products.  She told me that she may have some wooden ornaments available for the younger kids to paint instead of the ceramic ones.  Either way, I know it will be fun for even the preschool set.  (my 5 year old has ALWAYS enjoyed the crafts)  These projects take only a few minutes and all the materials are set up and ready.  Well organized and easy.

This week (Saturday, Nov. 3) at Home Depot they will be building a Thanksgiving Turkey Napkin holder.  We made a snowman napkin holder last year and it is a great project!  Andrew painted it and it holds our napkins all winter.  Wouldn't your thanksgiving table look nice with a home made project for it's napkin holder?

FREE painting class

I can tell you she is a super patient teacher and you will learn a ton in this open house that will make you want to go home and make something crafty for yourself.  This would be a fun event for a ladies day out!  :-)  She said to plan on 30 minutes start to finish to make the ornament and have the paint dry.

Bricktober LEGO Event at Toys R Us

Tomorrow (Sat. Oct. 27) at Toys R Us from 12-2pm is a Bricktober event.  Each child who attends will receive a FREE Monster City Mini Pack and help build a LEGO Monster City in stores.

Annual Fireman Parade

The fifth annual Ohio River Valley Fire Prevention parade is tomorrow (Sat. Oct. 13)!! Begins at 6:30pm at Tomlinson Park in Williamstown moves across the bridge into Marietta ending at Muskingum Park. Crowds can line up along that route to see about 75-100 Fire trucks and other vehicles!  They planned the event at "night" this year so you could see the lights better.  sounds fun!!

Halloween Coupon Books are back at McDonalds

For $1 you can buy one of these coupon books from McDonalds right now. I have confirmed that they are on sale at the McDonalds in Walmart in Marietta. They may not be at every location. They have three of each of the coupons shown for a total of 12 coupons. If you are a frequent McD visitor with your kids or if you know some kids who would be then this is a nice little gift to have on hand. Or, make your house the place to be on trick or treat night and hand these out. At $1 for 12 it's a GREAT deal to have on hand for those quick drive through nights.  I plan to use the apples and juice boxes as lunch box fillers!

Ravenswood Octoberfest

Ravenswood Octoberfest is THIS WEEKEND (October 6-7) at Riverfront Park.  Complete listing of events can be found here but with corn hole, inflatables, haunted house, petting zoo, duck pond, pet costume contest and a bake sale there will be something for everyone.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

Home Depot this week will be making a firetruck at their free kids build (October 6 9:00-12:00).  Build is designed for kids ages 5-10 but there are often kids both older and younger there.  Home Depot builds often include paintbrushes and all colors of paint to decorate your projects. . . my son's personal favorite part!!

Star Family Circus Returns to Marietta

Star Family Circus returns to Marietta next week!  I have never attended this event but have had friends go and they have been impressed with the quality of this little circus.  It's no big top performance, but for what you pay it's a fun family evening I am told.
