Blennerhassett Island opens for business

Blennerhassett Island is once again open for the summer.  The island itself is free but you must pay for the sternwheeler ride to the island.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for children 3-12.  The Sternwheeler docks at Civitan Park in Parkersburg and leaves every hour from around 10-4:30 (call 304-420-4800 for daily schedule).  Also, you can find up to date info in this website.

While on the island you can do mansion tours ($4 for adults/$2 for children), horse drawn wagon rides ($5 a ticket), and bicycle rentals ($4 per hour for adults/$2 for children)

Rendezvous on the River will be occurring  from May 11-May 14 which will bring muzzle loaders and mountain men to the island to recreate frontier life with authentic camps, demonstrations, and period dress.
