Home Depot Kids Workshops

Home Depot Kids Workshop will be held this weekend (April 2)  at all Home Depot stores from 9-noon. They will be making a planter/basket this week (great spring project!) These FREE workships are designed for children ages 5-12. Go here for more details, but no sign up is necessary.

"The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children."

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 26 Walmarts across the country are going to be offering free samples of Frito Lay Chips.  These sample times usually run from 10-1 but I can't find any information on the exact times for this weekend.  It's only a free sample bag so I wouldn't make a special trip, but if you are headed to Walmart anyway be sure and keep your eyes open for the samples.  Check in the food area as well as in the front of the store near the register.  While you are there check out these Walmart deals for this week to score some free stuff if you have the right coupons.  (Thanks moneysavingmom for the Walmart deals post)

Blockbuster Express FREE movie codes

Have you tried out the Blockbuster kiosk rental system yet?  The system is easy to use but you must have a credit card or debit card to charge the movie to (we have done this MANY times with no problems giving our card number-seems very secure).  If you return the movie by 9:00 pm the day AFTER the rental then you will be charged only $1 (or nothing if you have a code).  Every day after that your credit card is charged $1 a day.  Also, like redbox, you can go to the website here and reserve the movie BEFORE you drive all the way to the kiosk, but be warned . . . your credit card is charged when you reserve it online so only do this if you actually plan to go pick it up.

Try this free code TODAY ONLY (Monday 3/14)  and see if you can't score a free rental to try it out.  Each code is good once PER credit card or debit card NOT once per customer so with several credit cards you could get one for the kids tonight and one for you after they go to bed!

SOOO sorry, looks like Faithful Provisions might be in a different Kroger ad area than most of WV (Mid-Atlantic ads) so many of the coupons and matchups she did were NOT working in the Mid-Atlantic stores . . . I am so sorry and will find a better provider of deals for those of you that shop at Kroger (including myself) next week.

Walmart Coupon Policy

Walmart just started a new coupon policy-read the entire thing here.  Most of it is pretty standard coupon language but a few things are pretty unique to Walmart.

GOOD NEWS FOR US
1. they accept Internet printable coupons (if it says manufactures coupon at the top)
2. they accept competitors coupons with a specific price listed for an item (Rite Aid OFTEN has these in their ad)
3. they accept competitors checkout coupons (you know those ones that print with your receipt at Kroger and Giant Eagle) with a bar code and if it says manufactures coupon at the top
4.  Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.  (this is a big one for me!!-with the right coupon you can actually MAKE money taking things from the store)

BAD NEWS FOR US
1.  they do NOT accept Internet printable free coupons (you can occasionally get these to print from company websites when they are unveiling a new product)  This is bad news since only walmart in this area is usually on the cutting edge and has these new products in stock before the coupon expires.

Easy way to a $5 Amazon gift card

Anyone with a few minutes can easily get $5 at Amazon for writing reviews this month.  I have done this before and it's super easy and completely legit.  Just look around your house for products you love (or hate) and write a review about them for others to read.  It's that simple. 

Specific rules of this promotion

1.  Reviews must be written between March 11, 2011 and March 21, 2011.

2.  Reviews must be a minimum of 700 characters.  (this is easy to do-don't be afraid of this #)

3.  Reviews must be in the following categories: Home & Garden, Family & Pets (excluding toys), Health & Beauty, Kitchen (excluding Food & Drink), Computers & Electronics.

4.  Reviews must be about real products you own or have used; inappropriate or bogus reviews will be removed.

You will get an e-mail with your $5 within 30 days of the end of the promotion (usually just a few days after)
