I'm going to try a new format for the weekly deals.  I think it will be easier for me to just list my favorites for each store and then a link to someone who is doing all the deal matchups for you.  This way I can promote my favorite websites without listing everything myself and repeating what they already do so well.  Also, hopefully by a quick glance at what I post for each store you can see if it's worth it for you to shop there this week.  Let me know what you think.

Kroger-If you drink coke-be sure and get in on the 5 for $12 deal on 12 packs this week!  Also, the Daytona 500 event is going on again and lots of deals can be had for free or almost free convienence foods.  GREAT week for Krogering!

Giant Eagle-looks like it's all about sauces and seasonings at Giant Eagle this week.  cheap BBQ sauce, salad dressing, sour cream, dip . . . otherwise pretty slow.  Remember Giant Eagle deals run from Thursday to Thursday so if you are headed there for this weeks deals be sure to get there by Wednesday night.

Home Depot Kids Workshops

Home Depot Kids Workshop will be held this weekend at all Home Depot stores from 9-noon.  They will be making a periscope this week (great science lesson on reflection!)  Workships are designed for children ages 5-12.  Go here fore more details, but no sign up is necessary.

"The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children."

In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

FREE TICKETS to Circus in Belpre, OH

Another great family week at the Drive In Movie theater in Wood County

Did you know there are still Drive In Movie Theaters open in WV? One of them is in Wood County-this theater offers two movies each night and with your admission price you can stay for both movies. Most people bring along blankets and chairs and just sit outside so everyone in the car can see better but you can also sit right in your car like the old fashioned movies. This week is a GREAT family week since both features are rated PG.

Kroger Daytona Promotion

This is the week for stockup at Kroger if you have coupons!  They are running a buy 10 items get $3 back promotion.  Be sure to head to kroger.com, shortcuts.com, and cellfire.com to add e-coupons to your Kroger card before you head to the store since many of the items on the promotion are also offering e-coupons.  (for some reason the Marietta store doesn't seem to work for e-coupons very often so be warned that if you shop there you may or may not get the e-coupons taken from your bill)

I was able to get Country Time Lemonaide mix for .50 after coupon (peel off one I found last week), Frozen pizza's for $0.62 each, Oscar Mayer Hotdogs for 0.99, Pizza Rolls for $0.55, Betty Crocker Cookie Mix for $0.69 . . . you get the idea.  It's certainly not a health food week but if you want to stock your freezer and cupboards with easy convienence foods (or kid foods) this is the week for you.  See this website for actual coupon matchups for the Mid Atlantic Region (most of WV) and links to printable coupons.

LOWES Build and Grow Clinic

LOWES build and Grow Clinic this week (Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 AM) will be making this monster truck as well as some cardboard cars for the truck to run over!  :-)  Any little boys (or girls) in your life that would enjoy this project?  If so, go sign up here

Crafts 2000 Scrappin Saturday

Crafts 2000 is having a Scrappin Saturday this Saturday, June 19 from noon - 5 p.m. You can use their classroom and their tools to make your scrapbook pages. ALSO, every Friday and Saturday May - September is Flip Flop days. You buy the flip-flops they offer in the store and then you can get free embellishments and make your own unique style of shoes right in the store. Such a fun little project and the shoes are just a couple dollars in the store. Sounds like a great mother/daughter date day to me!

Vienna, WV Public Library offers Summer fun program

Vienna Public Library is sponsering a summer reading program again this summer.  There are reading logs available in the library for every age group from 2 year old through adults.  When you read the specified number of books for your age group; you turn in your log for a chance at some great prizes.  The logs are already out and ready to be filled out so get started reading right away.

In addition they will be having "story hour" type events for children of all ages this summer.  For a complete list click here.  I'll try to feature them again several times this summer as a reminder of some of their best events.

Free Razor from your favorite team

Head to your favorite football team's "gab" site for a free Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor.  They are offering this free sample to fans BEFORE the razors come available in stores.  My hubby doesn't use this kind of razor but we will use our free sample to donate to the homeless shelter where I'm sure someone will be thrilled to have it.

The Brownsgab.com site still had 889 razors left when I logged on this morning.  Not sure about the other teams websites.  Just type your favorite team then gab.com (no spaces)

Blockbuster Express FREE movie codes

There is a new video rental system in town.  Blockbuster is headed the way of the Redbox and is now offering movies through a kiosk for $1 a day as well.  The system is easy to use but you must have a credit card or debit card to charge the movie to.  If you return the movie by 9:00 pm the day AFTER the rental then you will be charged only $1 (or nothing if you have a code).  Every day after that your credit card is charged $1 a day.  Also, like redbox, you can go to the website here and reserve the movie BEFORE you drive all the way to the kiosk, but be warned . . . your credit card is charged when you reserve it online so only do this if you actually plan to go pick it up.

To make the deal even sweeter.  You can get one movie a week free if you are a Speedy Rewards member and your Kiosk is located in front of a Speedway.  Simply make an instore purchase and it will print at the bottom of your receipt (as long as you scannned your card first) OR print one from the Speedy Rewards kiosk in the store (just click on the button to print your speedy points and it will print at the bottom of the receipt)  This code is good ONLY for you and ONLY on the day you print it but you can print one new code for a free movie a WEEK!

Try these free codes and see if you can't score a free rental to try it out.  Each code is good once PER credit card or debit card NOT once per customer.  This could keep you full with movies for quite a while.  :-)  It seems like this might be the only way to rent DVD's very soon as many of the stores are going out of business (see post here). 

Please note that often codes do not work for everyone.  I'm sorry about that but I have no way to know what will work for whom so I'll post them all.  Here are some to try.

Did you get the free Chicken?

Did you take advantage of the free Chicken sandwich sample I posted about here?  We did it last night and were quite impressed with Chick-fil-a.  We had a Spicy Chicken VIP table waiting for us.  We were not only given a free sandwich but free fries and large drink as well.  We were even waited on at our table as we ordered our son's kids meal and got refills.  We just got to the restaurant and sat down . . . we were waited on hand and foot after that.  Quite impressed with the entire event and saw four other tables of people taking advantage of the event as well while we were there.

The spicy chicken sandwich was WAY too spicy for my liking . . . I couldn't even finish it all.  My husband, however, loved it and said he will order it again when it is available to the public.  We were recommended to put some ranch dressing on it to cut the spice but neither of us tried that since we are not a fan of the dressing.  They also offered various cheeses to either spice up or tone down the sandwich.

One of the most fun and interesting free events we have ever attended.  We felt very important sitting at the special table and getting all that free food.  Did you redeem your free coupon?  What did you think?

Drugstore/Grocery Store Flop--TARGET Deals!

It's really a bummer week at CVS, Rite Aide, Kroger and most of the local places this week.  I am taking a week off from shopping and saving my Extra Care Bucks and coupons for another week in hopes that it will get better next week.  If you have a Target, however. . . you are in luck!!  Check out all the deals that can be had at Target this week-she even has photos up of what she got!

In the meantime, if you are waiting, like me . . .
